The handle and stem are one piece hand carved Ash Wood.
Ash wood can only be harvested twice a year in Italy. It is the strongest wood, able to bear more weight than any other. In the past, chariot and coach axles and oars were all made from ash wood.
The frame is constructed of beautifully well made materials and is a structural delight.
